Snappy the hellbender says: Taxpayers, not industry, pay for administering the timber sale program, constructing logging roads, replanting trees, and restoring degraded habitat. The costs of deforestation to biodiversity, clean water and air, fisheries, tourism, and our spiritual well-being are incalculable.
